Near-zero energy was requested and achieved by covering south facing rooflines with solar, and using that energy to power geothermal heating and ultra-efficient appliances. FSC sustainably harvested wood products throughout, and so much more. None of which diminishes the timeless aesthetics. Awarded: MN Green Path Platinum Level. Have your cake and eat it too.
Our clients wanted to make the most of summer. Home and outdoors are seamlessly blended, using Marvin’s 14’ bifold door, paired with a 14’ rollup Phantom Screen. Connecting dinning, screen room and a bluestone patio beyond, with a fountain crafted by local pottery artist Steve Hemmingway.
The Modern Meadow was designed for an empty-nester who valued quality over quantity, thus inspiring a small but highly detailed 2,600 sq. ft. jewel-box modern. The home lives large, however, with its open-plan layout featuring full height windows, highly functional cabinetry, soaring flat roofs, crisp architectural geometry, organic finishes, and the small meadow for which it’s named.
‘Serene’ was the word repeated, as we discussed their master suite remodel. To achieve, we specified stately limestone, a luxurious soaking tub, hand glazed wall tile, with a soothing color palette throughout. Mid-century modern paper in the master bedroom, heathered wool carpet, and clean furnishings define this space as calm, cool, and collected. Across the hall a bright 12x12 walk-in closet with limestone-capped dressing table, and hand-blown glass chandelier. Who says storage has to be dull?
