From the beginning, we felt like Rocky & Gigi understood what our needs and aesthetic were and worked hard to bring them to life. I actually have been stressing about the deteriorating foundation situation over the past 2 decades with my back entryway/pantry as it was falling away from the house. Rocky and Gigi were fantastic from day one. They set realistic expectations and delivered on them. They were accommodating when we expanded the project a couple of times and always let us know if there were any implications to the overall project so we could make a well-informed decision. There was only 1 room in our house that was not impacted with the renovation. Major work included gutting kitchen (moved some walls and windows as part of this), basement and master bath. This was a 4month project and Rocky and Gigi set us up well with a temporary kitchen during this time. From a construction standpoint, Rocky was extremely responsive and respectful of what worked and didn't work for scheduling. He was also cognizant of costs and would offer multiple options when faced with a decision. Gigi was great on the design end. She is very particular on color tone, aesthetics and optionality - this was such a plus for us. From the first time we met Rocky & Gigi, we knew we wanted to work with them. They are both easy to talk to and great people. They truly listen to your goals, get input on your style and turn it into a fantastic plan and design. For our kitchen remodel, we had a tight space that we wanted to open to the dining area. With Rocky’s intelligent layout, he made use of every inch of space and we ended up with more storage, even after losing a wall! We remodeled our master bedroom and bath suite starting in December of 2014. Not only did we get a terrific new master suite but Gigi suggested retiling our living room fire place. My house was destroyed by a fire in 2011. DiGiacomo Homes & Renovations was from the start able to make us feel exceptionally well understood, and despite our many personal family complications and deadlines was willing to work with us on specific technologies that we wanted to incorporate into our new home. They worked with us to design the house we wanted, which was built with a double-wall system for maximum energy efficiency, in-floor electric heating for comfort and geothermal conditioning of air intake (9" piping system extending 110 feet long at 7 feet underground to deliver air to the house at a standard temperature year round). Our home walls are rated at R50 and the ceiling at R60. We eliminated air conditioning and central heating. Because of the kind of construction, we qualified for double metering with Dakota County Electric Cooperative, we pay $0.04 per KWH on all heating related electric consumption. We were a difficult client to please, managing stress related to the lose of the home and the lives of three children that needed help coping with the aftermath, I knew that we could not just work with any contractor to build a custom designed and built energy efficient home that also would feel right when we moved back. From details to the whole process of building, our expectations were exceeded. DiGiacomo Homes & Renovations delivered for us a beautiful new home, completely within budget, patiently worked with us to understand our needs, they did not build us a house, they really built us a "home". We had never built a home before, and honestly, most of what we had heard from other families as we explored potential contractors were stories of frustrations and disappointments, and stories of how careful and involved we had to be to get what we wanted. We had none of that. We hired Rocky and Gigi to redo our kitchen (untouched since 1939 and bad for even those times). We wanted them to integrate an unusable room off the kitchen and add all the modern conveniences, yet make it feel original and flow with the rest of the house.
