This busy family had outgrown their 90’s kitchen in every sense of the word. The homeowners had developed a passion for cooking since purchasing the house three decades ago and now have five grown kids who return home regularly. With these ideas in mind, we designed a kitchen that focused on increased counter space. The original toy-sized kitchen island was eliminated and the remaining counter space expanded to make room for family gatherings, constant laptop use, and, most importantly, lots of space to cook together. Counters were designed extra deep to allow larger appliances and other items that typically clutter the work space to be stored out of the way. A new taste for clean-lined aesthetics was softened with red oak accents, giving a nod to the remaining 90’s red oak found throughout the home. Behind the clean fronts, are thoughtful, well designed organizing devises, providing maximum storage for these cooks who love their toys.
Here's what the homeowners had to say after the remodel was complete:
"Gigi and Rocky were able to meet our changing requests in the design phase of the plan, moving from a surface remodel to a more extensive renovation of a 1990's kitchen, while staying within our budget requests. Rocky's kitchen design allowed the kitchen to be contemporary but still fit with the remainder of the house. Gigi had a wonderful sense of color combinations. All of the subs arrived on time and cleaned up when they left. We were given weekly progress updates. The completion date was 2 weeks ahead of schedule. Our newly bright and organized kitchen has been well used as we cook and bake at home daily." - Project Homeowner.
