Graceful Utility Laundry Room Design

Our graceful utility laundry room design, was once a narrow hall that has now been turned into "command central." It features thoughtful detailed storage, a "drop zone" (a standing-height desk for cell phone charging and mail), a magnetic chalkboard calendar/menu, a full-function laundry space with a washboard sink and clothes chute from above, and a set of wooden lockers with a waterproof shoe tray. We packed an incredible amount of high-function storage into this small space, but we did so with a palette of practical, graceful finishes such as dark chocolate granite for the counters and bench; glossy, easy-to-clean field tile; natural wood cabinetry in the hardest-working areas; and a scrub-able yet feminine wallpaper to brighten the north side of the space. Who says utility can't be beautiful?
