Reclaiming the View!
"I had a dream of a beautiful kitchen and dining room overlooking our wetland. DiGiacomo Homes made my dream come true! It was great to work with them every step of the way from ideas, design and finishes, they made the project easy and seamless from day one!" — Keri Schricker, Minnetonka
During initial design meetings, our clients lamented — "We bought this property for the wetland and then gave the best views of it to our garage [when building 15 years earlier]!" This organic modern kitchen was designed to recapture wetland views, improve functionality, and expand living, dining, and entertaining space.
The kitchen centers on a large bank of south-facing windows that open to a full wetland view. The double island (for food prep and eating), custom cabinets with task-specific storage, and a new "marsh room" addition provide plenty of new room to sprawl when cooking and entertaining. Slabs of natural butcher block were introduced throughout to marry the home's original heavy use of maple with the new kitchen addition.
